When someone enters the designer, it will create a page lock.  Page locks will keep other users out of the book, which is intentional, as we only want one person working on a spread at the same time.

Although we allow more than one user to be assigned to a page, they still cannot work at the same time; otherwise, they may end up overwriting each others work!

Before managing your page locks, it's important to note these 3 important aspects of how the site works:

1. Only ONE person can be working on a spread at any given time, otherwise it will create a page lock. This is to prevent people from saving over each other's work.

2. If you need to remove a lock (perhaps somebody forgot to log out of the designer) the administrator can:

Click on the “Manage” tab in the main menu.

  • Select “Manage EDO Page Locks”
  • Look for the page that is currently locked in the list.
  • Click the “Delete Lock” button next to the locked page to remove the lock.

Or navigate to the Settings  menu on the top Left of the designer. < click “delete lock” for desired page

3.  Admins can lock pages on the LADDER if they do not want anyone opening it.  If you keep deleting page locks and it does not work, navigate to the ladder and if the lock is BLACK, click it again so it turns WHITE which means unlocked.

4. Permissions to delete locks is usually just for Admins, but you can manage other user type permissions under Manage < manage permissions and change NO to YES if applicable.
