How to Run Spell Check from the Ladder How to Run Spell Check from a Text Box Review Suggested Words Before You Approve Your Book

Typos happen, especially when you're focused on designing the perfect page. That's why EDONext includes a built-in Spell Check tool to help you catch spelling mistakes before your yearbook goes to print.

How to Run Spell Check from the Ladder

Step 1) On the yearbook ladder, click Spell Check

Step 2) In the Spell Check menu, click the page you want to start on and then click start

Step 3) You can then go through the spell check finds and choose to correct or ignore any finds

Step 4) Once you completed your selections on 1 page, you can then choose Yes to continue to the next page or No thanks to exit the spell check menu.

How to Run Spell Check from a Text Box

How It Works:

Spell check is available directly in the Text Edit Mode box.

To find Text Edit Mode, Press on your Text Box and the Quick Menu will give an Edit Mode Button.

Pressing Edit Mode, You will be greeted with the Text Edit Mode Window.
If there are misspelled words, the system will display a message of “issues found”:

Then in the window under, you are able view and press the suggestion given to adjust that misspelled word.

After it will remove the word that was adjusted and display misspellings that are left to be reviewed.
You are also able to type within this window and press “Spell Check” again to check if there are any more misspelled words.

Spell check works in after clicking the Update Textbox button, so it’s a good idea to review all words before finalizing your page content.

Review Suggested Words

For each flagged word, you'll be able to:

  • Replace it with one of the suggested corrections.
  • Ignore the word if it's spelled correctly or is intentionally used.
  • Leave proper names, mascots, or unique school terminology unchanged if appropriate.

Continue through the list until every flagged word has been reviewed.

Before You Approve Your Book

Spell Check is a great final review step, but it's always a good idea to have another staff member proofread your pages as well. Names, nicknames, school-specific terms, and creative spellings may not appear in the dictionary, so be sure to verify those manually.
